Tried and True

Another watercolor crayon card for today. This on is a birthday card for a young lady. The idea was to make it sophisticated to make her feel grown up and to acknowledge that she's growing up.

The background was stamped directly on the card base. Basic brown was used on the Canvas background stamp from SU, and the flowers were stamped over that. After misting the stamp, crayons were used to put color on the stamp. It was randomly stamped around the card base several times with several levels of intensity. The green leaves in the set were also used very lightly in the same way all over the background.

The focal image was stamped in the same way with the watercolor crayons. Ink was applied to the edges to give a bit of definition there.

The ribbon started as white organdy (SU), but with the help of a Copic marker, it became a very intense - and matching - shade of yellow. I love, love, love the way it turned out. I think it accents the middle of the flower perfectly. There is a layer of brown SU cardstock under the white layer of the focal image.

I'd love to hear what you think. For now, have a great Sunday evening and a great, big, beautiful tomorrow.
