Simple Sympathy

For some time, I've known that I was going to need a sympathy card for a friend. Her husband of 14 years had pancreatic cancer and went to Glory this past Sunday morning. He will be so very missed by so many.

The card needed to be peaceful and simple, in my opinion. Pulling out my SU Watercolor Wonder Crayons, I got to work. The paper used is all SU except the white. The white is GP 110 lb. The sympathy set (Close As A Memory) from SU worked so well for this card and with the crayons. The crayon color was applied directly to the stamp after misting it with water. Then, the stamp was misted lightly again, and the image was stamped on the paper. Around the flowers, the light blue was colored and the Aquapainter used to give the water-colored background look. The top left and bottom right corners were pierced to give just a little more detail and interest on the card.

The piercing was done using the SU tool kit and piercing mats. A white, grosgrain ribbon was added as the last touch.

I know that, for Tweetie - and all of us - Reed will always be as close as a memory, and we will rejoice when we see him again in Glory.

Have a wonderful Tuesday and a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!
