Oh, Happy Day

A great day to create, I think. :) I didn't get much done, but I did get one card created. I also helped my 6 year old make a pillow and blanket. :)

The colors look a little screwy here, but you can see some of the details.

My inspiration for this card came from a couple of challenges. Strangely, the colors came from the CAS challenge on SCS. This card didn't turn out to be CAS, but the colors came from the Family Circle magazine cover that the challenge was using this week.

Stampin' Sisters In Christ had a challenge to be very opposite of a CAS card ... use everything! I used a lot on this card, so I hope it counts for that.

Cute Card Thursday has an 'anything goes' challenge going.

Card Recipe -
stamps - misc. set from Hobby Lobby, Christian Friendship (Clear Dollar Stamps)
paper - dp, lavender, pink, white
ink - brown, black
accessories - ribbon (under lace), lace, Spellbinders' dies, Designer Labels dies(Clear Dollar Stamps), other die, flowers, pearls, Sheer Shimmer frost, pop dots

My princess got creative today, too. She wanted to make herself a pillow. When she brought me the fabric she had chosen, we found that it was big enough for a pillow and a blanket to match. Yes ..... she's a John Deere fan.

I helped her put the lace on, but she very carefully sewed her pillow by herself. :) She did a great job, and I'm very proud of her.

I'm still working on her Easter dress. I just need to put the buttons, hook and eye, and pockets on. Then.... we'll be done! :) I can't wait for her to wear it on April 8th.

I hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday and that you have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow.

Seeing Green?

Another challenge card for today!!!  I'm so excited that I actually got 2 done.

Green ... lots of green on this one!

This little turtle is SO adorable!!!  He's from a stamp set by Inky Antics and is actually 3 different stamps - legs, shell, and head. He is from a set that is designed to be used with their honeycomb paper.  Such cute ideas they have for this!  I don't have any of the honeycomb paper yet, though, so I went with the 'plain' version.  It still makes such a cute card!

Card Recipe -
stamps - Turtle Honey Pop (Inky Antics)
paper - white, lime juice, spring leaf, sweet pea
ink - black
Copics - 0, G21, W7, G00, G94, G99, G85, BG96
accessories - flowers, green metal buttons, edge punch, baker's twine, ribbon, pop dots

Challenges -

Gingerloft - spring

Ahhhh ... a good day of creating. :)

I hope, soon, to share some of the fabric creations I've done lately.  I hope you don't mind me switching up the media a bit.

Have a wonderful night and a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!

Merry .... Christmas?!

It's been so long since I have been able to create and to get involved in a challenge.  It was fun searching for challenges to incorporate into a project.

This card meets the criteria for the Perfect Sentiments Challenge.  We were to use a Christmas sentiment on the front of our card.

This card was a lot of fun to put together.  The angel die cut is actually metal. Wow ... I LOVE how that looks on here.  Such a cool effect.  I wrinkled and sanded the die cut to give it some texture and age.  The silver brads at the top are actually jingle bell brads!!  They are SO cute!!  And they jingle when the card moves.  Super cute.

Card Recipe -
stamps - Christmas 2011 (Hobby Lobby)
paper - dp (DCWV), white, worn parchment
ink - chocolate, cocoa, fog
accessories - Vagabond, folder, nesties (deckle rectangles large), Elegant Accents Dies, baker's twine, lace ribbon, metal sheet, Sizzix angel die, jingle bell brads, pearls, pop dots, sanding block

Springing a Little Easter

Yes, it's been a little while, hasn't it?! Yikes. I'm sorry. My life has been very busy, and I've not had an opportunity to paper craft at all. I have, however, worked on 4 blankets and an Easter dress. :)

BUT ... I did get to create today. I worked on Easter cards for my dh's deacon family and for a few others in our church. I have the design done and all the pieces cut for 23 cards.

Whatcha think??

I found the cross stamp at Rubber Stamp Fantasy in Marietta. I fell in love with it and knew that it would be used for as soon as I bought it. :)

Card Recipe -
stamps : cross (Inky Antics)
paper : celery, white
ink : black
accessories : Copic markers, ribbon, Elegant Accents dies (Clear Dollar Stamps), corner rounders, Vagabond, embossing folders

Hope you had a wonderful day. Ours was gorgeous - 60s and clear sky. :)

Enjoy the rest of your Saturday and have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!
