CAS At the Zoo

Clean and simple .... I have learned to love those words. I love the look and feel of CAS cards. The theme for the CAS challenge this week on SCS is "At the Zoo." How fun!

I knew exactly what image I wanted to use when I heard this. I have had this giraffe for quite a while, but haven't had the opportunity to ink it up.

Monkey Around

A friend has a birthday this weekend, and I wanted to work on a special card for her.  I have a great stamp set by Inky Antics that I just love, so I wanted to use it on my project.  Along with a great piece of dp, I think this card will work very well. :) :)

Isn't that monkey adorable!?  He's just too much fun to work with.

To add a little extra 'something special' to this card, I put this other image on the inside.  To just add the image would have been cute, but I chose to give it some ... bounce. :)  The little guy was placed on a handmade 'spring.'  When you open the card, he just ... springs to life. :)

Here's how it looks on the back of the image. I simply took the wire, wrapped it around a pen, and attached it with tape to the back of the image and to the card.  It was an easy, cute addition to the card.

Card recipe -

stamps - Monkey HoneyPOP set (Inky Antics), Birthday Wishes (Clear Dollar Stamps)
paper - dp, celery, white
ink - black
Copics - G21, G24, G28, BG10, E11, E15, Y17, E50, E53, E57, 0
accessories - wire, tape, baker's twine, flowers, nesties, Vagabond, pop dots

Challenges -

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Freebie week

Cute Card Thursday - Spring flowers
Clearly Inspired Challenge - Go green

Making another dress for the princess.  Hope to have it to show you soon! :)  Have an awesome day and a great, big, beautiful tomorrow.

April Challenge

Dody sent us some great stuff for our April swap challenge. I put some of it together to create ... in paper. :)

One part of the challenge was to use a sketch from SCS that we've never used. So, I used the one from the sketch challenge - SC379.

Card Recipe -
Stamps - from swap envie
Paper - from swap envie
Ink - from swap envie
Copics - B0000, B00, B32, B34, C3, C5, YR04, YR61, YR68, G21, G24, G28, Y21, Y26, Y28, Y02, R81, R46, 0
Accessories - lace, flowers, blooming bouquet dies, pop dots, SC379

This was fun to create. I love coloring in those images. My son says that the card reminds him of my daughter. :) I'm good with that.

Have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow.

Happy Easter!

Happy, happy Easter!!!!  I hope that you had an amazing resurrection Sunday and that you celebrated our Lord in grand style. :)  We had a wonderful day at church and with family.

My little princess wore her new dress .... the one I made!  :)  I know, it's, SERIOUSLY, not a very complicated or fancy dress.  I get that, BUT .... I made it!  It turned out so sweet and perfect for her.  She was so proud to wear it and to tell people at church that her momma made it. :)  We were both full of smiles.

After I sewed the dress, I wanted something for her hair .. or head.  I don't do well making bows, so I went looking for a free, EASY hat pattern.

This little sun hat was perfect!!!  I found the pattern on the Craftzine blog. It's so easy.  You have to cut 12 pieces, but they are all the same - 6 of one fabric and 6 of another.  It's a reversible hat. :)  Super cool and super easy.  I put a small bow on top with long ribbons hanging down the back.  That tied it in with the pink ribbon on the dress.  The inside of the hat is the light pink, which is what the underskirt of the dress is made out of.  I hope to make several more of the hats.  It will make a precious summer hat.

I hope to create some tomorrow, but we'll have to see how the day goes. :)

Have a wonderful evening and a great, big, beautiful tomorrow.
