Perfect Sentiment Challenge #34 - Anything Goes!!!

What a super fun way to end my stint as a guest designer with Perfect Sentiments Challenges. An Anything Goes challenge. :) :)  It really has been a great time.  I'm so thankful that I was allowed to be a part of the team for a little while :)

Here are the juicy details -

The Challenge: create anything you like as long as it has a sentiment on the front...card, tags, ATC's, altered art.
The Twist: no scrapbook pages, please

Limited Runs is sponsoring this challenge, and I used one of their images on my card.

Yeah ... that adorable frog is from Limited Runs. He's SO cute. I couldn't resist giving him a little something extra, though. Behind him, as well as the sentiment, is a little spring. That allows him to bounce around a bit when the card moves.

Behind him, as well as the sentiment, is a little spring. That allows him to bounce around a bit when the card moves. LOVE the effect it gives this adorable image.

For Fun Challenge - Guest Designer

Wow ... I am SO honored. I have been chosen again to be a guest designer on a challenge blog. I'm thrilled!!! The challenge blog is called For Fun Challenges. Check it out and join in!

The challenge this week is to create a religious card around the theme FROG - fully rely on God. Super -duper fun! :)

I created the sentiments on the computer, but used a stamp from Penny Black that I had not used before. I added some Prima flowers that I've not used before, as well.

I wanted to show off the joy that we each can have by depending totally on the Lord. These little frogs looked SO excited!! I just couldn't resist using them.

Card Recipe -

Stamps - Toadily Yours (Penny Black), computer generated sentiments
Paper - white, gray, cocoa, celery
Ink - black
Copics - B0000, G21, G24, G12, G14, G17, R22, YR04, BV11, B24, R46, Y08
Accessories - Vagabond, embossing folders (2), Cross dies (Clear Dollar Stamps), flowers (Prima), crystals., baker's twine (limeade), pop dots, self-adhesive metal

Ok, so get on over to the For Fun Challenge blog and try the FROG theme. You can do it!! I can't wait to see them.

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday. Tonight is our last night of the 'school' year for our Wednesday night kids' program (iQuest) at church. I love, love, love being with those kids, but I'm ready for a bit of a break. :) Everyone needs one from time to time, right?? :)

Have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!!!! :)

Perfect Sentiment Challenge #33 - Men!

The Perfect Sentiments Challenge for this week is .... A Special Man.

The Challenge: create a card with a sentiment for a special man. Your sentiment must be on the front of the card
The Twist: no patterned paper is allowed on your card.

I'm not sure what I envisioned when I started this card, but I'm pretty sure that this isn't what it was. Hahaha. I'm ok with how it turned out, though.

No patterned paper .... I thought the notebook paper embossing would go well with the graduate theme I chose to go with. I distressed the edges of the gray layer and sewed it down to the blue. I love the look of the sewn layers.

Card Recipe -

stamps - Graduate (Paper Inspirations), For Our Men (Clear Dollar Stamps)
paper - gray, cocoa, deep sea
ink - black, brown
accessories - embossing folder, vagabond, silver dots, baker's twine, pop dots, circle punches

We all have a special man in our lives that we can honor with a card. Go for it .... make him a card and join in the challenge.

Perfect Sentiment Challenge #32 A Banner Birthday

My third challenge as a Perfect Sentiment Challenge guest designer is today.

Have a Banner Birthday...... Oh, my!!! How super fun is this challenge?!

The Challenge: create a card with a birthday sentiment
The Twist: use a banner on your creation

I don't have banners handy, so I had to grab SCAL and my Cricut to get started.

I made a banner and a shadow with the basic shapes in SCAL. Unfortunately, I had to cut the hot air balloons out by hand (boo hoo.... hahaha!), but they were pretty simple cuts. I love the CAS style, and I think this card qualifies for that pretty well.

Card Recipe :

stamps - Air Flair, Rooster Sunrise (sentiment)
paper - parchment, blue, white
ink - blue, green, orange, black, brown
accessories - Cricut, SCAL, pearls, ribbon, pop dots

I hope you'll join us with this challenge - we all need birthday cards, right?? :) Head over to Perfect Sentiments Challenge and post your link. I can't wait to see what you have to show us!

Have a wonderful Wednesday and a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!!

Perfect Sentiment Challenge #2

It's the second challenge of the month of May for the Perfect Sentiment Challenge blog.  It's wonderful to have the opportunity to create for a team again.

Today, our challenge revolves around 'get well.'  Here's the challenge and the twist -

The Challenge: create a card with a sentiment that wishes someone well. Sentiment must be on the front of the card.

The Twist: You cannot use the words “get well’. Dig through your stash of sentiment stamps and use those sentiments that wish someone well using words like…Under the Weather, Wishing You Sunny Days, All Fizzled Out, Take Good Care, Hanging by a Thread, etc. I know you have them and “Thinking of You” does not count. So get them out and get inky!

Isn't this little mouse adorable?!   He just makes you want to hug him.

And don't you just LOVE those die cuts?!  I found those at the stamp store in Marietta, GA.  The dies make gorgeous die cuts.  The mouse layer and layer behind it are Spellbinders, and the flower square and flourish are from Memory Box.  My sentiment lets someone know that I'm thinking about them and wishing them well ... without saying 'get well.'

Card Recipe -

stamps - Hello Again (SU), Get Well Critters (Clear Dollar Stamps), Get Well Sentiments (Clear Dollar Stamps)
paper - pink, gray, white
ink - black, fog
copics - C1, C3, R20, E31, E33
accessories - circle punches, spellbinders' dies, memory box dies (valerian flourish, floral square), pearls, vagabond, folder, lace, pop dots

Hope you have a fantastic day and a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!!

Perfect Sentiment Challenge ... Guest Designer

Woohoo!  I was chosen as a guest designer at the Perfect Sentiment Challenge blog.   How fun!  I'm so excited to be a part of this wonderful group for a short time.

Perfect Sentiments always offers a challenge along with a twist. :)

This week ....

The Challenge: create a card with a sentiment for Mother’s Day. Sentiment must be on the front of the card.

The Twist: add some handmade flowers to you card. You can make them with punches, dies, Cricut cartridges, etc.

I chose to use hand-crocheted flowers for my 'twist.'   The amazing little girl stamp was so much fun to color and place on my card.

 Card Recipe -

stamps - Flowers for Mimi (Penny Black), A Godly Mother (Clear Dollar Stamps)
paper - worn parchment, white, dp, orange, blue
ink - black, versamark
copics - YR00, YR04, YR07, B00, B05, Y21, Y26, Y28, R81, E50, E53, C1, C3, Y02, Y06, 0
accessories - spellbinders dies (border), pearls, vagabond, baker's twine, handmade crocheted flowers

I hope you'll join us in this challenge.  It's tons of fun and offers a great chance to try something new or refresh yourself on an old technique.  Good luck!

Have a wonderful Wednesday and a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!
