July Challenge Card

Each month I will post the card that I make for our monthly challenge swap. I received the items last week and had the chance to play tonight (a short chance). I'm fairly pleased with the results. I look forward to hearing what you have to say.

The images were sent in our challenge package, and we were able to alter them as we wished. I cut out the heart and the flower, and I trimmed the 'everything' to make it straight and to fit in the space I had. I punched the little slots on the end for the ribbon to slide through. I used the big word window punch for the 3 tabs at the top and a white gel pen to put the small dot on the end or 2 of them. The patterned paper is double-sided. I wasn't sure which side to use, but the little dots just called to me. :) We were required to use the paper, too. Two little Bella Baubles were included. We could use one or both. They are just toooooooo cute to not use them both. One is in the middle of the flower and the other is at the inner point of the heart. The pink ribbon was another item included in the challenge pack. The small flower on the tab is on a pop dot. Paper colors used were pretty in pink and chocolate chip. I believe that the ink used on the stamped images was almost amethyst and close to cocoa.

Hopefully, I can create several other times this week! Until then, have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow. :)

Whew

I finally created something!!! Yippee skippy! LOL!! Things have been sooooooo busy around here. The boys were at camp last week, and I really thought I would get to stamp a good bit. Yeah, that didn't come close to happening.

I did get to stamp yesterday, and I took the time to put a bunch of my clear stamps in CD cases. Jaydin and I made trips to JoAnn's, Michael's, AND Hobby Lobby last week, so I had a fair amount of goodies to put up, too. That was fun. :)

Anyway, here's the card. It's a birthday card for a friend of mine.

I really wanted to use the Cricut, but the mojo was just not there. Hopefully, I will get to that this week. The little angel set is from SU, the flowers are Primas, and the ribbon is SU organdy. The flourishes on the background are from a clear set that I got on sale at WalMart the other day. A white gel pen was used to put the white on the dress, and Stickles was used on the wings. A gold gel pen outlines the halo.

Let me know what you think!!

Hopefully, I will be stamp happy later this week!! :)

Saturday Creations

I thought that I would get more done today, but I just couldn't wrap my mine around much creating. Just worn out from the week, I think. I did manage to create a card for my father-in-law for tomorrow and to meet one of the challenges on for the Quacker group.

The first card is the card for my father-in-law. I used a set called Mindy's Zoo and the monkey set from Clear Dollar. The paper is SU, and everything is colored with the WWC. It's stamped on Whisper White in Staz-On jet black. The layers are Garden Green and Close to Cocoa. Hemp twine decorates the bottom of the green and 3 copper brads accent the cocoa layer.

The orange and pink card meets *two* of the challenges we have for the Quackers this month. The 2 challenges are to create a card using orange and pink and to create a card using chipboard. The layers on this card are Pink Passion and Only Orange. The images (from Clear Dollar - All About Spring) were stamped in Staz-On and colored with the WWC. The orange layer was stamped with the dragonfly in white craft ink. The chipboard ribbon tag was colored using the Pink Passion craft ink, stamped with white craft ink, and dried with a heat gun. The ribbon was on the tag when I dried the ink, and it curled as a result of the heat from the heat gun. I thought it was cute, so I left it.

Let me know what you think!!

Have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow.

Just Stuff

As creative as I would like to be, it's just not going to happen this week. We have Vacation Bible School at my church, and all of my creative energies have been sapped slap out! LOL!! We decorated yesterday and had 9 kids today. It was a fun day, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow. Here's a picture of our decorations for the room and door. The theme of the week is Outrigger's Island.

Didn't my workers do a great job with these?? I took my Cricut Expression up to the church (along with my trusty laptop and the Cricut software) and was able to cut out SOOOOOO many things for the decorations and projects for the week. You can see a lot of the cuts in the pictures - sand castle, pineapple drinks, flowers, fish, shells, airplanes, etc. It was SO handy to have my bug up there with me.

Recently, I entered a blog comment contest. A Muse and Hero Arts were doing a designer switch. How cool is it that I won one of the prizes?!

The prize had 10 note cards, a Wheely Girl stamp, Clear Creative Candy, and some fabulous, pink ribbon. What a fun piece of mail!!!!

Here's my girl in VBS today.

Ok. That's it for today. Perhaps I will feel like creating at some point this week...... but don't count on it. ;) Saturday, though ...... I'm going to be all about it!

Have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow.

Whew!

Wow. The creation process really got stuck tonight. I had an idea for a card, but it just didn't come together. So, I started over and worked again. The resulting card came out pretty well, but I need to color it a little better. The AquaPainter and I were having fights tonight, too - and it needs a little more water, I think. I'm going to post it even though it needs a little more TLC.

Set - Monkey Madness from Clear Dollar
Paper - SU Pixie Pink, Chocolate Chip, and Gable Green, watercolor paper
Ink - Staz-On Jet Black
Accessories - brown brads, word window punch, SU Watercolor Wonder Crayons, AquaPainter, ribbon (no brand), SU Stampin' dimensionals
