Continued Graduations!

More graduations! :)  This one is for a very special young lady that will be graduating high school in a couple of weeks.  Fortunately, I get to deliver this card personally. :) Very excited about that.

For her card, I also used a very cool new tool to make a matching envelope for the card.  That thing is pretty darn cool!  It's called the Envelope Punch by We R Memory Keepers.  Super cool new tool .... thanks to a sweet friend of mine in Florida. :) :)  Thanks, Dell!!

For her envelope, I put the patterned paper on the inside and used the white on the outside.  Works especially well like that if the card needed to be mailed.

The image was found on the web and colored with Copics.  The side die cut was cut from a Spellbinders' die, and the label die cuts were from Clear Dollar Stamps.  Baker's twine was used on the bottom, bringing out the yellow in the paper, label, and colored image.

Sure hope she likes her card!!!

Have a wonderful Thursday and a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!!

Non-traditional Graduation

A very special friend just graduated from college.  She got a BS in .... something pastry ... something business ... something.  I think she had to be able to say it to graduate!  Anyway, I'm very proud of her, and made a card for her.  I really liked how this one turned out.

I used the adorable bike die from Your Next Stamp to symbolize the journey.  This piece was cut from vellum.

Your Next Stamp also has a set of pinwheel dies ... goodness, how cute!!!  This is the larger sized one, and it has a small, yellow brad in the center.  The die even cuts the holes at the ends of each pinwheel piece to add the brad in the center..

The main colors for the card are lime green and blue/turquoise.  The girl image is also from Your Next Stamp - as is the cute die cut flowers at the top of the image.  A ribbon of blue and white with a strand of lime baker's twine finishes the card off.

I'm not sure why this card draws me so much, but I really do like it a lot.  I sure hope Victoria does, as well. :)

Hope you have a happy, blessed Sunday, and a great, big, beautiful tomorrow.  Please take the time to remember those who have given their lives so that we are free to go to church, speak our minds, bear arms, live our lives, and pursue happiness.  If you see a service member or veteran, thank them.

Another happy creation today. :)  Found this super cute image in one of my swap kits. She was so much fun to color.
I found the black and white background paper and ribbon in one of the kits, too, and I thought that they went really well with the kitchen 'theme' of the image.

Hopefully, I can manage to get up to the Haven and the Seam soon so that I can use ALL my tools to create.  It's tough being limited to just what I have on hand here.  I've also had to use a paper cutter that leaves frayed edges.  Yuck.  But ... at least, I have been able to create.

I need to create a few more graduation cards .... so many of the kids graduating college or high school this year.  Am I really that old?

Have a wonderful day Thursday and a great, big, beautiful tomorrow. :) :)

Limited Creation

I'm excited because I've been creating the last couple of days.  It's not been easy because I don't have all of my tools and resources down here, but I've been able to color and make a couple of cards using some old swap kits.

My card today uses a super-cute little image from Your Next Stamp.  I love their stamps ... and they have a new release coming this Wednesday. :)

I know.... the background paper doesn't really go with the other paper very well.  It's all I had that would work. I'm not thrilled with it, but I do like the Groovy Fhiona and how she turned out.  I think the ribbons work well for her, too.

Isn't she just Groovy?? :)

Thank you for checking things out here today.  I really do appreciate it! :)

And don't forget to check out Your Next Stamps' new releases this week.  They have awesome stamps.

I hope you have a wonderful day and a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!

ConGRADulations!

Yes, yes. I'm well aware of the correct spelling of the word. In fact, the misspelling of the word drives me nuts, but at this time of year, I suppose we should just all give in and let it go. So many graduations going on. And this year, most of the ones I know about are college graduations. Wow... Can 'my' kids be that old!?

We have a graduation party to attend on Sunday, and it's for a precious, young lady that graduated high school the same year my older son did. I can't believe she's old enough to graduate college.

I made her card today. I have moved my Copics down to my bedroom so that I can color when I'm resting my knee. So, I printed off this cute little graduate, colored her, and created a card.  I thought she was really appropriate for a female college graduate.

For whatever reason, many of the graduates I'm hearing about have school colors of blue and yellow.  So, most of my graduation gowns are being colored blue.  I will say that it's easier to color blue than black! :)

I added baker's twine to two of the corners and made a little bow in one of the corners.  The yellow went well with the graduates accents.

The background layer is a white piece of cs put into an inked embossing folder and put through the Vagabond.  Then, the edge was cut from a Spellbinders' die and cut to fit the edge of the image layer.

I hope my sweet friend likes her card.  I'm very proud of her! :)

More coloring this week, I'm sure ..... surgery on Wednesday.  Surely, I'll have some time to color while recuperating ... right???? :)

I hope all of you have a wonderful Sunday and a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!!
